Overview
ABOUT THE JAPAN AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP SCHOLARS SCHOLARSHIP: Japan comes to life when you arrive for your six-week stay with your host family! Traditional tea ceremonies, practicing martial arts, attending local Japanese High school courses, and visiting local festivals are just some of the activities that YFU students to Japan may experience during their JAFS scholarship exchange.
The JAFS scholarship is a partial scholarship for U.S. High School students; Students are responsible for covering the remainder of the tuition balance ($4,000) for the Japan program if they are selected for the scholarship. 70 students are awarded the Winter JAFS scholarship every year!
