Leitner International Research and Internship Fellowship
Yale University
The Jackson School of Global affairs invites applications for the Leitner International Research and Internship Fellowship. The Fellowship provides support to undergraduate students undertaking a project contributing to an understanding of international affairs. A project may be an independent research project, an internship or formal study/coursework. Projects must take place outside of the U.S.*
Students may apply for the fellowship before knowing the results of internship applications.
The Fellowship is open to all Yale College students during the summer after their first, sophomore, or junior years, with special preference given to students majoring in Global Affairs. All applicants must demonstrate how their projects will increase their knowledge of international affairs.
Successful applications will demonstrate significant preparation, including a well-considered proposal, identification of and access to sources, a realistic budget and plan for completion of the project, and competency in the language of the project site(s). The proposed project should be a full-time commitment and be the primary activity for the duration of the fellowship.
The Jackson School expects to make awards of up to $5000.
A written report of the experience will be submitted at the completion of the trip. Recipients may be asked to offer a seminar or presentation of their field project results when they return to the Yale campus. Any publication or public presentations resulting from their projects should acknowledge the support of the “Leitner International Research and Internship Fellowship."
Please proceed with caution when making plans for the summer and be prepared to alter your project due to travel restrictions. Please be prepared to carry out your project remotely if travel is not possible. Make sure to check the Yale College Travel Policy and entry requirements of your proposed destination (check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy websites)
