Henry: The Charles and Julia Henry Fund supports one year of postgraduate study at Oxford or Cambridge. The award provides tuition, approved fees, a cost of living stipend, and a transatlantic travel grants. Each year Yale selects one graduating senior as a Henry Fellow. US citizenship is not required.
Paul Mellon: The Paul Mellon Fellowship is offered to two-three members of the senior class for study at Clare College, Cambridge, for the coming academic year. Fellowship recipients may request a second or third year depending on their academic program. The award provides all tuition and college fees, including room and board expenses, a round-trip flight from their home to Cambridge, and a stipend of not less than $15,000 per year.
King's-Yale: The King's-Yale Fellowship will support a candidate who wishes to study for a one-year full-time Master's course in any subject (with the exception of the MBA) at King's College in the University of Cambridge. The award will cover tuition, room and board, settling-in fee, and a travel and conference allowance.
Application Information: Applicants for any of these awards should apply via this Henry/Mellon/Kings Common Application. A completed application includes:
- A 1000-word personal statement. Please describe your academic and other interests. The statement should describe the specific area of proposed study and reasons for wishing to study at Oxford or Cambridge. if you are applying to a 'taught' program, please describe how the courses are relevant to your objectives. If you plan to pursue research, please outline your research proposal.
- Three letters of recommendation. At least two of these letters should be from those who have taught you and/or supervised research. The third letter may also be academic or from someone who can comment on character/leadership. Either way, please choose people who know you well.
- Résumé. No more than two pages long.
- Transcript. Unofficial Yale transcripts will be sufficient for the campus competition. Please include any relevant transcripts from other universities attended.
- Evidence of application to Oxford and/or Cambridge for the course(s) of study proposed to begin the following fall.
