Gary Stein Fellowship
Yale University
Awarded to a Yale undergraduate for a project of research aimed at bringing about scientific, social, or educational practical effects.
Application Information:
- A statement of intent (approximately 500 words) describing how you will use fellowship support, what experiences or coursework prepare you for this undertaking, and how you see the importance of your project.
- A budget of anticipated expenses and list of other fellowships and sources of financial support which you have already secured or for which you have applied.
- One letter of recommendation from a faculty advisor.
- A copy of your Yale transcript.
- A signed “Assumption of Risk Waiver” from applicants who intend to travel abroad.
International students should make sure that their paperwork is completed through Daysi Cardona in the Tax Dept. at 432-5530 to avoid delays with the distribution of checks.
Proposals will be judged strictly on their merit, not on financial need. However, in determining the amount of an award for a student on financial aid, the committee may be willing to consider earnings replacement as a valid expense.
Students who are awarded fellowships will be expected to upload a brief written report at the end of the project.
Restrictions to Use of Award: For independent research conducted during the summer.
Restrictions on International Travel: You should familiarize yourself with the University’s International Travel Policy.
For the complete policy, visit http://cipe.yale.edu/travel-resources/travel-policy. Students may not receive Yale funds or pre-approval for credit to travel/study in countries on the restricted list. (Seehttp://www.yale.edu/yalecollege/international/travel/restrictions.html.)
Priority given to Ezra Stiles students. Freshman, Sophomores & Juniors.
