Cambridge International & Wolfson College PhD Studentship
Wolfson College
About
Wolfson partners with the Cambridge Trust in funding 8-12 PhD studentships each year that cover tuition and maintenance costs for doctoral study in any subject. Roughly half of these are awarded to Home-fee status students as Vice-Chancellor's PhD Studentships and the other half are awarded to Overseas-fee status students as Cambridge International PhD Studentships.
In many cases the College will partner with specific Faculties, Departments or Doctoral Training Partnerships to co-fund these awards. In 2024/2025, preference may be given to applicants in Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, Development & Neuroscience (PDN) and/or in subjects related to the College's Interdisciplinary Research Hubs:
- Gender
- Global Health
- Sustainability & Conservation
- Race, Ethnicity, Culture and Heritage
These awards are offered in partnership with the Cambridge Trust. Please see the Cambridge Trust website for more information: https://www.cambridgetrust.org/scholarships/v-c-awards-and-cambridge-international-scholarships/.
Trust scholarships do not automatically fund the optional writing-up period (if applicable). Scholars will be able to apply for a brief period of extension funding, should it be required at the end of their scholarship.
Any student accepted by the College is eligible for these awards, but to ensure acceptance, applicants should specify Wolfson as their first choice. Awards are based on merit, but when two applicants are otherwise equal, preference will be given to those who have listed Wolfson College as their first or second choice.
