Gordy and Diane Taylor Scholarship

Gordy and Diane Taylor believe in the power of education. Dr. Gordy Taylor, WIU Associate Vice President for Alumni Programs Emeritus, retired in January of 2006. In May 2008, Diane retired as an English instructor at Spoon River College’s (SRC) Macomb Campus. The Gordon and Diane Taylor Scholarship was initiated by Diane with financial support from WIU alumni and friends upon Gordy’s retirement as a way to honor his years of service to WIU. The Taylors have structured their scholarship to benefit a new transfer student from Spoon River College with a preference for declared English majors. Both WIU and SRC are important institutions in their lives.

CRITERIA:

• Incoming transfer from Spoon River College • Preference to an English major • Good academic standing • Academic excellence as demonstrated by GPA
