Margaret Nielsen Music Scholarship

Description:

This scholarship is to assist first year BMus students majoring in Classical Musical Performance at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington. Selection is based on musical ability and financial need. Preference may be given to a student studying a particular instrument or instruments nominated by the Head of School.

History:

This scholarship was established through the generosity of Margaret Nielsen (who retired from the University's School of Music staff in 1995).

This scholarship is open to applicants in their first year BMus, majoring in Classical Musical Performance. Selection is based on musical ability and financial need. Preference may be given to a student studying a particular instrument or instruments nominated by the Head of School.

Criteria:

• Applicants must be currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree at the New Zealand School of Music.
• Applicants must be in their first year of a BMus majoring in Classical Musical Performance.
• Applicants must be experiencing financial hardship.
