The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage enrolment in Master’s programmes in both Chemistry and Music which may include domestic or international travel components.
History:
The scholarship was established from the bequest of Dr Joan Mattingley, who graduated with a PhD in Biological Chemistry in 1977. Her husband Charles Cameron had a lifelong interest in music. The scholarship provides funds administered by the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation, for Master’s studies - separately in Chemistry and in Music, and can include a domestic and overseas travel component.
Applicants must be current full-time or transferring students enrolling in a Master’s degree programme in Chemistry or Music at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
Preference may be given to applicants who have completed all, or a substantial portion of their undergraduate degree in Chemistry in the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences or in Music at Te Kōkī - the New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
Selection criteria:
The scholarships are open to full-time or transferring students enrolling in a Master’s programme in Chemistry at the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences or students enrolling in a Master’s programme at Te Kōkī - the New Zealand School of Music, Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
