Jan Heine Research Scholarship in Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology

History and purpose:
This scholarship was established in 2018 with a generous donation from Jan Heine towards furthering her lifelong work in environment and earth sciences. This scholarship is to support postgraduate students (Master's level) in their research in biodiversity and restoration ecology.
This scholarship is open to students who are currently enrolled in any Master's degree programme in the Faculty of Science at Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be undertaking research in any aspect of biodiversity and restoration ecology, including the use of novel technologies - for example, management of biodiversity incorporating ecology, geomorphology, and Geographic Information Science (GIS); or targeting pests and improving efficiency through robotics, poisons, and traps.
- Applicants must be currently studying in any Master's programme in the Faculty of Science at Victoria University of Wellington, undertaking research in any aspect of biodiversity and restoration ecology, including the use of novel technologies.
- Preference will be given to students in the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences.
Selection criteria:
Applicants must be currently studying in a Master's degree programme in the Faculty of Science at Victoria University of Wellington.
