Infratec Scholarship for Māori, Pasifika and Women in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering

This scholarship is for Māori, Pasifika or women students majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours programme with an intention to choose a specialisation in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year.
The awardee will receive a stipend of $6,000 per year for the first three years of study, conditional on choosing the Renewable Energy Systems Engineering specialisation in their third year.
The awardee shall also receive a paid summer placement with Infratec at the end of their second year of study to be arranged directly by Infratec.

This scholarship was established to support Māori, Pasifika and women students to choose a career in the renewable energy sector. It does this by providing financial support to Māori, Pasifika or women school leavers majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours programme with an intention to choose a specialisation in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year.
Applicants must be applying to enter their first year of study in the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours programme majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with an intention to choose a specialisation in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year.
Criteria:
- Applicants must be intending to enrol in the first year of a full-time in a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Victoria University of Wellington.
- Applicants must have an intention to choose a specialisation in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year of study.
- Applicants must belong to an Equity group (Māori/Pasifika/Women).
- Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents
- Applicants will be selected on the basis of academic merit, motivation, future potential, and commitment to studying renewable energy and working in the field of renewable energy engineering.
