George Pirouet Scholarship in Latin American Studies

History and purpose:
This scholarship was established through a bequest from the late George Trachy Pirouet who graduated from Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington, with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English, Greek and History in 1963. In 1975 Mr Pirouet took over the running of Millbrook House, a hotel near St. Helier in the Channel Islands which had been in his family since 1848. He maintained a keen interest in Victoria University of Wellington.
This scholarship is to support students who to undertake postgraduate study in Latin American studies, in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington.
Applicants for this scholarship must be enrolled, or be intending to enrol full-time, in a Master's by thesis or PhD in a topic in Latin American studies at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington. Selection will be based on academic merit.

- Applicants must be full-time students.
- Applicants can be domestic or international students.
