Three scholarships of $1,000 each are given to graduate students of Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) who have demonstrated financial need and are enrolled in the following health degree programs: Masters of Nursing Nurse Practitioner (NP) or PhD in Nursing. Applicants must be registered in full-time studies at UVic.

The delivery of the program/course may be through either distance education or on-campus. First preference will be given to Indigenous students from Vancouver Island. Second preference will be given to Indigenous students from within BC. Third preference will be given to Indigenous students from within Canada.

Approval of the recipients will be made by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Human and Social Development.

Eligibility

Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student.
