Dean's Award for Indigenous Graduate Students

The Faculty of Graduate Studies’ Dean’s Award for Indigenous Graduate Students is an award to recognize and support academic excellence. The Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement and the Faculty of Graduate Studies have collaborated in the development of these awards for Indigenous students valued at $6,000 or $15,000.
Eligibility Criteria:
Canadian Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) student Registered in full-time graduate studies at the Master’s or Doctoral level during the entire 12 months of the award term (September to August) A first-class average (7.0/A- or higher); for new students, GPA is based on the last 30 units of completed study; for current students GPA is based on completed courses in your current graduate degree program. Applications must be submitted to fgsgradawards@uvic.ca by September 15.
Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Application details, deadlines and eligibility criteria are all listed in the award description. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student.
