Overview

In 2023, UniSQ will offer one Ipswich RSL Scholarship in Psychology, Counselling, Health and Wellbeing to support a student continuing their studies in a bachelor's degree program offered through the School of Psychology and Wellbeing, and School of Health and Medical Sciences as listed.

The Ipswich sub-branch of the RSL has initiated this award to encourage higher education study in the areas of health and wellbeing in recognition of the pivotal role played by professionals in these fields for the provision of primary health care to wounded military victims of military conflict.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or permanent humanitarian visa holder
  • be a resident of the City of Ipswich as defined by the local government boundaries (postcodes 4300, 4301, 4303, 4304, 4305, 4306, 4307, 4340, 4346)
  • be continuing their studies at UniSQ in Study Period 1 2023 (e.g., Semester 1 2023) in one of the following programs:
  • Bachelor of Science (Counselling)
  • Bachelor of Science (Psychology)
  • Bachelor of Science (Psychology Extended)
  • Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Human Services (Counselling)
  • Bachelor of Human Services (Child & Family Studies)
  • Bachelor of Human Services (Health & Social Wellbeing)
  • Bachelor of Human Services (Community Development & Indigenous Studies)
  • Bachelor of Paramedicine
  • have, as at the release of results for Semester 2 2022: a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 study units completed and credited towards their current program (be entering into the second year of their degree)
  • a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.0
  • be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in Study Period 1 2023 (e.g., Semester 1 2023)
  • be enrolled on-campus, external or online
  • be able to demonstrate a primary family (parent, grandparent, sibling, child or grandchild) relationship to a current or former Australian Defence Force (ADF) member.
