Higher Hopes Fund

Description

Established to provide scholarship support for Massachusetts students with full financial need who might not otherwise have applied to college because of financial need and lack of peer and/or family pressure to do so. The Fund will enable them to complete their college education without educational loans. Recipients will preferably graduate from high schools that send fewer than 45% of their graduates to four-year colleges. Preference is also for first-generation college students and students who do not receive grants based solely on academic criteria.

Eligibility Requirements

Incoming Freshman recipients may hold the scholarship for four consecutive years, provided that they remain enrolled on a full-time basis. Recipients are selected from Lawrence, Lowell, Boston, Chelsea, Springfield or Holyoke High Schools.
