Overview

This non-renewable scholarship was established in memory Keith Andrews of Strong, Arkansas. Keith was a graduate of El Dorado High School and the South Arkansas Electrical Apprenticeship School, both of El Dorado, AR. The scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate of El Dorado High School or a graduate from another Union County Arkansas high school.

Applicants must be must be working for an electrical company or service, with a mentor who supervises them and signs off on their hours, to apply to the South Arkansas Electrical Apprenticeship School hosted by South Arkansas Community College, El Dorado, Arkansas.

Online Application must include:

  • Completed online Scholarship application must be submitted by March 31st.
  • Applicant must submit a letter stating they are currently employed or have been accepted for employment with a defined start date by an electrical company or service prior to taking the South Arkansas Electrical Apprenticeship School course.
  • Must provide El Dorado High School or other Union County Arkansas high school diploma.
  • If currently enrolled in high school, a cumulative high school transcript through the most recent term which must include either ACT or SAT score
Eligibility

A recipient must be a graduate from El Dorado High School or a graduate from another Union County Arkansas high school. The criteria to be used by the Advisory Committee in the recommendation of recipients shall include but not be limited to GPA of 2.5 or higher, financial need, academic merit, currently employed by an electrical company or service or have been accepted for employment with a defined start date, and plan to the South Arkansas Electrical Apprenticeship School hosted by the South Arkansas Community College.
