Overview

This non-renewable scholarship was established in memory and honor of former El Dorado High School Coach L.C. Ross. The scholarship is awarded annually to at least one El Dorado High School Senior of African American Heritage.

Application Requirements:

  • Scholarship application.
  • Cumulative high school transcript through the most recent term.
  • Two letters of recommendation: one from a school official and one from an adult other than a family member.
  • A typewritten essay (1-2 pages) that relates the student’s educational and career goals.
Eligibility

A recipient must be a candidate for graduation from high school during the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded, and have a GPA no lower than a 2.5. Criteria to be used by the Advisory Committee in selection of recipients shall include but not be limited to financial need and academic merit.
