G. and I. Hester Indigenous Pathway Scholarship in Medicine

COURSEWORK The Godfrey and Ione Hester Indigenous Pathway Scholarship in Medicine was established by Dr. Vanessa Harvey in memory of her parents, to provide assistance to an Indigenous student who has accepted an offer of assured entry into the course for the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) at The University of Western Australia ('the University'). The scholarship is to support and assist an eligible student to commence and undertake the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University.
To be eligible to be considered for the scholarship, applicant candidate must be—
(a) a domestic student;1 (b) an Australian Indigenous person;2 (c) accepted into the course for the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a Direct Pathway; and (d) enrolling in their first 48 points of the course. 1 An Australian citizen or permanent resident or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa or a New Zealand citizen.
2 An Australian Indigenous person is a person who: • is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; • identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; and is accepted as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in the community in which he or she lives or has lived.
