Scholarship awarded to an English major based upon merit and an essay of no more than 500 words stating the student's goals as an English major and the value of the major in relation to the contemporary world, including the role of the humanities in an era that emphasizes scientific and technical fields. Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

All admitted or continuing UToledo students are invited to apply for scholarships. Most scholarship applications open in October and close from December to March. Once scholarship committees have selected recipients, all scholarship applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via their UToledo email.
