Overview

A scholarship to support pharmacy students

Andrew Tu Scholarship was established to support pharmacy students to pursue honours research into mental health.

Background:

A beloved husband, brother, son and friend, Andrew Tu excelled in community pharmacy where he was cherished by colleagues and customers alike for his fierce intelligence, warm and caring personality, and his infectious smile.

The scholarship, generously funded by family, friends and colleagues, aims to encourage and support pharmacy graduates to make a positive impact within their profession, by raising awareness and reducing stigma around mental health. Importantly, this will support the next generation pharmacists who are at the forefront of primary care for their community, to not only identify those in need of help but be able to seek help for themselves.

Eligibility

a. The Scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission or being currently enrolled full-time in one of the following courses:

        I. Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours), or

b. Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll into the following units of study as part of one of the eligible courses:

         I. PHAR4815 Research Methods, and

c. Applicants must be completing mental health research as part of their eligible degree, and this must be recognised by the Sydney Pharmacy School Honours Coordinator. Potential honours candidates should refer to the published Project Guide for the list of eligible mental health research projects.
