Open to undergraduate students in any degree or diploma program in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources.To be eligible, students must include a statement detailing their academic and career goals related to improving the livelihood of farm families. Submissions will be evaluated on the applicant’s commitment to farming communities, as well as their leadership/and or supportive role in sharing new ideas and their potential to improve both the wellbeing of farm families and the direction of the agricultural industry.

The scholarship fund was established to remember and honour the legacy of Major Alfred Frank Mantle, deputy minister, Saskatchewan Department of Agriculture, 1910 &ndash 1915. Mantle was highly regarded and esteemed not only for his selfless service to agriculture and his country, but also for his personal worth as a human being &ndash particularly for his devotion to duty. Serving in World War 1, he was killed in action in France, September, 1916, age 34.
