Eligibility

Offered annually to a full-time second- or third-year student enrolled in the College of Kinesiology or majoring in Physical Education within the College of Education. To be eligible the student must be highly regarded by their peers as a dedicated scholar, a motivated and conscientious athlete, and an individual with high moral character devoted in the concerns for their fellow man. Selection will be made by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Kinesiology.

Academic achievement, athlietic ability, and character

Donor Established in memory of Dr. Gordon Garvie, an internationally respected athlete, coach and scholar in the University of Saskatchewan, College of Physical Education. Gord died prematurely of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease). In his memory, friends and colleagues have established this Scholarship to assist student athletes in furthering their education.
