This scholarship provides assistance to students who have experienced educational disadvantage as a result of financial hardship and who are undertaking tertiary studies for the first time.

Selection criteria: QTAC will consider your application based on the following:

• you, your parent/guardian, or your partner receive the maximum rate of a means and asset tested Centrelink Income Support Payment
• you participate in The Smith Family Learning for Life Program
• your gross household income is below an institution-determined threshold.

You're eligible if you:

• are a citizen of Australia
• are a permanent resident of Australia (including humanitarian visas)
• are a citizen of New Zealand.

And you:

• intend to enrol as a commencing student in any undergraduate or associate degree program in the year the scholarship is awarded, or after an approved deferral of up to 2 years
• have not undertaken any prior tertiary study at bachelor level or higher
• have demonstrated significant financial disadvantage through achieving maximum points for the ‘Financial Hardship’ category of QTAC’s Educational Access Scheme.
