Melbourne Accommodation Bursary
THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE
This scholarship is available to students from Australian States and Territories other than Victoria or regional and remote areas in Victoria who are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances, and provides an allowance towards the cost of accommodation in Melbourne.
What are the benefits?
This scholarship provides an allowance of $5,000 per year (paid in semesterly instalments) for three years. The duration will be extended with one year, if you enrol in a concurrent diploma at the same time as your Bachelor degree course at the University of Melbourne.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
- have completed Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia
- be living in a State and Territory other than Victoria or in a regional and remote area in Victoria
- not have completed subjects undertaken as part of a tertiary course
- have applied for a University of Melbourne undergraduate degree via VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate
- meet the Access Melbourne entry requirements for the University of Melbourne course nominated in your VTAC application
Selection criteria:
The scholarship is offered to eligible candidates with the highest overall level of disadvantage based on the information provided in their VTAC SEAS application who have not received an offer for a Melbourne Access Scholarship.
