Overview

This scholarship is awarded to a University of Melbourne Bachelor of Science student, who has completed eligible third year subjects in the discipline of Mathematics and Statistics, on the basis of academic merit.

What are the benefits?

A single payment of up to $1500.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Complete a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne with a major in Mathematics and Statistics,
  • Complete the below third year Mathematic and Statistics subjects:
  • Discrete Mathematics (MAST30012),
  • Decision Making (MAST30022),
  • Complete a minimum of one subject from the list below:
  • Techniques in Operations Research (MAST30013), or
  • Graph Theory (MAST30011), or
  • Stochastic Modelling (MAST30001).

Note, students who do not complete the two subjects Discrete Mathematics (MAST30012) and Decision Making (MAST30022), and at least one subject in the area of Techniques in Operations Research (MAST30013), or Graph Theory (MAST30011), or Stochastic Modelling (MAST30001) will not be considered for the scholarship.

Selection criteria Eligible candidates will be ranked based on:

  • The overall performance in both Discrete Mathematics (MAST30012) and Decision Making (MAST30022),
  • The highest scoring subject in the area of Techniques in Operations Research (MAST30013), or Graph Theory (MAST30011), or Stochastic Modelling (MAST30001).
