James Rapley Memorial Scholarship
THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE
This scholarship was established in memory of James Rapley and is awarded to students from rural areas to support them to study science or engineering at the University of Melbourne.
What are the benefits?
An accommodation allowance of $12,000 per year for up to three years. The allowance is paid directly to the Residential College.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
- have completed Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia
- not have been awarded results for subjects undertaken as part of a degree course at a tertiary institution in Australia
- have applied for Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne via the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate
- be eligible for entry to the University of Melbourne under Access Melbourne
- have applied for a place at Janet Clarke Hall, St Hilda's College, St Mary's College or Medley Hall.
Selection criteria:
This scholarship is awarded to eligible candidates who have the highest overall level of disadvantage based on the information provided in their VTAC SEAS application and their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
Conditions:
This scholarship is subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms and Conditions (as amended). In addition, you must maintain residence at a Residential College of the University of Melbourne.
