This scholarship supports Master of Learning Intervention (Deaf Education) students to develop specialist skills and knowledge to become a teacher of the deaf. The scholarship is worth up to $30,000 in total across the two-year duration of the course.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

-be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

  • be enrolled, or intend to enrol, in the Master of Learning Intervention (Deaf Education). Ensure you meet the entry requirements for the course prior to applying for the scholarship.

All scholarship offers will be made under the condition that applicants commit to commence their Master of Learning Intervention (Deaf Education) studies at the University of Melbourne in Semester 1, 2023.

Applicants must not be in receipt of the Inclusive Education Grant.

Selection criteria:

  • Evidence of strong teaching practice
  • A strong interest in working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Knowledge of quality inclusive learning and teaching practices and differentiation
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, colleagues and parents
  • Relevant professional teaching experience will be regarded positively.
