Overview

The John Moorman Memorial Scholarship was established in 1999 by John’s friends, family, and co-workers to recognize and remember him for his dedication to turf management of golf courses. John was a life-long resident of Batesville and Golf Superintendent for many years at Hillcrest Country Club.

Eligibility
  • Be a graduate of Batesville High School or Oldenburg Academy; and
  • Be planning a major in agronomy. Agronomy is the science and technology of producing and using plants for food, fuel, fiber and land reclamation and encompasses work in the areas of plant genetics, plant physiology and soil science; and
  • Have maintained a grade point average of 3.0; and Submit a written recommendation from a counselor; and Demonstrate financial need
