Harry W. Thompson Memorial Scholarship

Harry Thompson was the editor and publisher of the Versailles Republican until the time of his death in 1964. A longtime resident of Southeastern Indiana, he was active in many civic organizations and believed in leaving a worthwhile legacy. The scholarship was begun to honor his name.

• Have graduated from Milan, South Ripley or Jac-Cen-Del High School; AND
• Have an acceptance letter to the college or university they will attend; AND
• Be majoring in journalism, photojournalism, or advertising/marketing; AND
• Have been a member of the high school yearbook or newspaper staff; AND
• Have at least a 2.5 grade average; AND
• Attach a sample of his/her writing of no more than 500 words (no poetry). A high school writing assignment may be submitted; AND
• Attach two letters of recommendation; AND
