Overview

The Daryl Lea Van Hook Memorial Scholarship was established in 2001 as an endowment fund in the Ripley County Community Foundation, Inc. Miss Van Hook’s parents, Bill and Marilyn Van Hook of Batesville, created this scholarship to honor their daughter’s memory. Miss Van Hook was a graduate of Batesville High School and Ball State University. Her degree was in Special Education. This is a four-year scholarship. The amount of the scholarship shall be determined by the annual distribution made from the fund and divided by four years. To renew the scholarship, the recipient shall provide the Ripley County Community Foundation with proof of re-enrollment and verification of a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Eligibility
  • Be a resident of Ripley County; and Be a graduating senior from any Ripley County, Indiana high school (including Batesville High School and Oldenburg Academy); and
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; and
  • Be planning to attend Ball State University as a full-time student;
  • Submit a written recommendation from a high school or college counselor or teacher
