Scholarship Description

If you live in areas designated as “National Priority” and you graduated from a pre-academic preparatory program where you received a scholarship to cover your tuition from the Foundation for the Absorption of Discharged Soldiers (HaKeren LeKlitat Chayalim Meshuchrarim), you may be eligible for a scholarship covering up to 50% of your tuition during your undergraduate studies. The scholarship is distributed by the Foundation for Encouraging Higher Education, which is operated by the Foundation and Unit for Discharged Soldiers. Who may apply: Those who completed full military, national, or civic service as defined by law, whose official address official address (as listed in their ID card) must be in an area of national priority for 5 out of the 6 years prior to enrollment at the university. Mechina alumni studying for an undergraduate degree, who began their mechina studies no more than four years after being discharged. Mechina graduates enrolled in an undergraduate program, who received funding from the Foundation for the Absorption of Discharged Soldiers during their mechina studies. Eligibility begins three months before discharge and lasts until five years after discharge from mandatory service. For active reservists and lone soldiers, the eligibility period is extended to ten years from their discharge from mandatory service. Scholarships cannot be distributed retroactively if the deadline is missed. The scholarship covers 50% of undergraduate tuition for three years (recipients must re-apply every year). The sum shall not exceed 5,195.5 NIS (as for 2021/22, updated annually). Any other scholarships (except stipends for volunteering) will be deducted from this sum. The scholarship will be transferred to the student’s pikadon account within two weeks of acceptance. You can track messages under the “personal messages” tab. Students are permitted to receive other scholarships or stipends if they require volunteering.
