Scholarship Description
The Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies provides the following scholarships and awards: Undergraduate students: 1. Scholarships for students focusing on Baha’i studies. 2. The Prof. Amnon Netzer z”l Excellence Award for students focusing on Iranian studies. 3. An award for the best seminar paper. Master students: 1. Funds to encourage enrollment in both tracks, including the Politics and Society in the Middle East track. 2. Excellence awards for students finishing the first year of their graduation studies (both tracks) with an average of 90+. 3. The Prof. Amnon Netzer z”l Excellence Award for students focusing on the history of Iran, central Asia (all periods, cultures, languages, etc.). 4. The Abir Award, given to excelling research students writing about a modern topic. 5. The Bartov Award, given to excelling research students (master or doctoral students) – awarded every other year. 6. The Haim Gerber z”l Award, given to excelling students of Turkish or Turkish-Ottoman studies. 7. The Emanuel Sivan Award, given to master or doctoral students.
