Kelly A. McAdams Scholarship
The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County
The Kelly A. McAdams Scholarship was established in 2007 by her parents, Brendan “Ben” and Kathryn “Pat” McAdams to honor the memory of their daughter, Kelly Ann McAdams. She was a graduate of our local schools and a lifelong student with an inquisitive mind. The scholarship provides deserving students with four years of undergraduate support. Kelly was an extraordinary woman with a passionate personality and a courageous spirit. She saw the best in every person and situation. She enjoyed all of life’s experiences and lived them to their fullest, having fun all along the way. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and was a renaissance woman. Her talents ranged from fashion designer to personal shopper, lip-sync artist to party coordinator and attorney at law to real estate developer. She had the power and capacity to do almost anything with confidence and a natural skill. Kelly’s greatest gift was her tremendous personality and sense of humor. She was quick with a quip, joke or clever observation. Anyone spending times with her would find themselves shaking their head with a grin or roaring with laugher. Her ability to teach us all about how important it is to live your life and have fun doing it along with family and friends is her greatest legacy. Kelly was born in Philadelphia and raised in San Luis Obispo. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara and a law degree from Western States University in San Diego. She was also a member of the California State Bar Association.
