Gary Grossman Scholarship – for LGBTQ
The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County
The Gary Grossman Scholarship was established by Gary Grossman in 2004 to support high school or college students in San Luis Obispo County who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender. Gary completed his undergraduate degree at UCLA and earned his master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at University of Southern California. After completing his education, he moved to the Central Coast to take a job with a local developer. In 1988, he founded and became president of Coastal Community Builders, Inc. His company has grown from modest beginnings to become the largest builder on the Central Coast. Gary’s goal in creating this scholarship for LGBT students is to seek those who demonstrate leadership, integrity and honesty, and who have the potential to succeed in higher education as a means of significantly improving their futures
