Overview

The Dennis T. Collins/Thomas D. Salisbury Troop 60 Eagle Scout Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of former Scoutmasters Dennis Collins and Thomas Salisbury. This scholarship provides an educational scholarship fund for an Eagle Scout from Paso Robles Troop 60. Dennis was a leader in several walks of life. He was the former general manager of Treana Winery, a founder of Big Red Vineyard, and a board member of the California Wine Institute and Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. In 2005, he was recognized as the Paso Robles Wine Industry Person of the Year, showing his dedication and passion for the industry. As an active leader with the Boy Scouts of America, he received the Silver Bearer Award, the highest honor awarded to Scouting volunteers for their leadership, guidance, and inspiration. Dennis believed in education. When Dennis retired as Scoutmaster of Troop 60, he told of his plan to establish a fund to provide scholarships to Eagle Scouts. His vision was to establish a tax-exempt fund that would be able to provide $5,000.00 to Eagle Scouts attending 4-year colleges. Dennis worked to make this vision a reality until his last day. In memory of Dennis T. Collins, a fund was established to fulfill this vision.
