North American Athlete Scholarship 2024-25

Newcastle University offers up to 30 North American Athlete Scholarship awards to encourage North American athletes in the following sports, Basketball, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Tennis, Golf, American Football, Waterpolo, and Women’s Soccer, to undertake Postgraduate Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate and Master’s level study.

Award Summary Successful applicants will receive the following:

Either a 60%, 50%, 40%, 30% or 20% tuition fee discount for one year applied directly to the student’s tuition fee account

A comprehensive support package including:

• Free gym membership
• Unlimited strength and conditioning support
• Professional coaching
• Physiotherapy and sports massage
• Lifestyle support and mentoring

How To Apply Applications for North American Athlete Scholarships must be made electronically via the Sports Scholarship Application Form.

Applicants should note that only students meeting the following criteria are eligible to receive North American Athlete Scholarships:

• Registered to study at Newcastle University city centre campus for the 2024/25 academic year.
• Registered for one of the following eligible courses: -Masters - MA; MBA; MClinRes; MEd; MMedEd; LLM; LLM (by research); MLitt; MMus; MPH; MRes; MPhil; MSc; Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma.
• Defined as international for fee purposes.
• Citizens of the USA or Canada and domiciled in the USA or Canada.
• NCAA D1- D3 playing experience (we will consider NAIA on a case-by-case basis) in one of the following sports: Basketball, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Tennis, Golf, American Football, and Women’s Soccer.
