Overview

This scholarship was introduced to support clarinet students at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance. The scholarship is in honour and memory of Anna Chmiel who was a clarinet student at the School. The scholarship value is $6000.

Benefits:

$6000 per annum (48 credit points of study) for one year only In the event that there are two equally deserving applicants, the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance may split the scholarship and allocate $3000 to the two recipients

Selection criteria

  • Based on a combination of academic achievement and previous musical performance as determined by the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance.
  • Performance at an interview/audition.
  • Must have achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 in your principle music study.

To retain this scholarship: You must maintain satisfactory academic performance as determined by the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance.

Eligibility

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen
  • A New Zealand citizen
  • Australian permanent resident
  • Australian humanitarian visa holder

You must also be:

  • A commencing or continuing music performance student in an honours degree in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance at a Monash campus in Australia, or
  • A continuing music performance student in an undergraduate degree in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance at a Monash campus in Australia
  • Participating in an ensemble (composition students are not eligible), playing the clarinet
