Overview
This needs based funding is based on financial need and not academics/extracurriculars.
These needs-based awards are one-time, non-repayable, financial awards for students facing unplanned one-time costs due to unanticipated situations.
This can include, but are not limited to, sudden changes in financial situation, no money for expenses such as food, rent, utilities, required technology for virtual and online courses and uninsured medical/dental bills, pending eviction from your place of residence, negative circumstances outside of your control.
Pre-selection requirements:
This needs based funding is available to students who are enrolled in the MBA program. This funding is not available to students who are on a leave of absence, have not yet begun an MBA program, or have graduated from the MBA program.
- You must be an enrolled student
- You have investigated all other resources including OSAP, bursaries and awards
- You have an immediate and unexpected expenses leading to financial hardship
- You have eliminated unnecessary expenses from your spending plan
What are my next steps to getting assistance?
- Update or complete your AwardSpring Common Application if you have not already done so.
- Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor via Oscar+.
- Please bring a statement of request outlining the type of support you’re seeking, the amount you’re requesting, the reason for the request, and an explanation of the resources you’ve exhausted and attempts you’ve made to secure other resources.
- Please bring any information that is missing from, or has changed within, your AwardSpring profile. Requests for needs-based funding will be granted at the discretion of the Student Experience Academic Team. Only in extraordinary circumstances will a student be offered more than one needs based award from this fund during their studies.
Qualifications
- Applicant must be a current student.
- Applicant must be enrolled.
- The applicant must be an active student in the School of Graduate Studies.
- Applicant must be in an active graduate career.
- Applicant must be enrolled in a Business MBA program.
- International students are ineligible for this award.
- Applicant would like to be considered for need-based aid.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicant must have read, understood and agreed to the Student Declaration.
