Global Experience Award for Undergraduate Students
McMaster University
Overview
The Global Experience Award (GEA) promotes global engagement opportunities and the development of intercultural and personal growth. The award provides funding to assist with the costs of international opportunities, such as work (i.e., co-ops, internships, placements), volunteering, service learning and leadership development (i.e., conference attendance and job shadowing). Preference will be given to non-traditional cultural experiences.
The award is not available to students for the purpose of studying abroad or participating in a McMaster exchange program.
Please note that while the Student Success Centre (SSC) is responsible for approving GEA applications, the primary responsibility for researching and assessing the experience falls on the student, including but not limited to, ensuring the authenticity of the opportunity. We strongly recommend that you carefully read and complete all forms and steps necessary to understand and be prepared for any travel associated with your GEA.
