Overview
Overview
To recognize their overall involvement and dedication to enhancing the Black student experience, the African Caribbean Faculty Association of McMaster (ACFAM) is offering a one time award (to be awarded during the Black Graduation Celebration) to an outstanding Black student organization. The successful applicant must demonstrate how their student organization has embodied active leadership, fostered a sense of community, and positively impacted their peers. This application will require an individual representative to disclose their specific affiliation (i.e.: Executive Board Member) and apply on behalf of the organization.
Eligibility
Qualifications
- Applicant must be an Undergraduate or Graduate Student.
- Applicant must have read, understood and agreed to the Student Declaration.
- Applicant must be a Full Time student.
- Applicant must be enrolled.
- Applicant self-identify as Black (including African, African-Canadian, African-American, Afro-Caribbean/West Indian)
- In the context of voluntary self-identification, do you identify as a member of a racialized group (The term racialized is more appropriate than and preferred as a replacement to the term “visible minority”, which is defined by the government of Canada in the Employment Equity Act as persons, other than Indigenous peoples, who do not identify as Caucasian, European, and/or White in race, ethnicity, origin, and/or colour, regardless of birthplace or citizenship.)?
- Applicant must be pursuing a Bachelors, Co-op, Honours Co-op, Honours, Masters, or PHD.
