Joey Irwin Scholarship - Frederick High School

This Scholarship Fund was created to honor the life of Joey Irwin who passed away suddenly on April 17, 2017. A native of the Carbon Valley, Joey attended Frederick schools and graduated from Frederick High school in 1992. Joey was an incredibly skilled Master plumber in the community. He lived and breathed his work and thought of most clients as family. Joey was most at home in the outdoors, he was an avid and accomplished huntsman and fisherman. He loved teaching all of his nieces and nephews to fish. Joey also enjoyed sports, rooting on the home teams and playing golf. Joey spent most of his time with family and was often referred to as the favorite uncle. Joey had a zest for life and a heart of gold. He truly would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in any situation.
This scholarship provides a one-time scholarship up to $10,000 to Frederick High School Seniors who wish to pursue trade or vocational occupations in order to increase their ability to have a positive impact in their field and community. Minimum GPA 2.50 with no F’s on transcript.
Applicants are required to upload their transcript, answer five short answer questions and submit a 2-3 minute video in their online application.
