Overview

The AAUW strives to break through educational and economic barriers so that all women have an equal chance. Through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research, AAUW advances equity for women and girls. The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide scholarships to encourage women to pursue higher education in order to increase their ability to have a positive impact in their field and community, including women returning to school to update their knowledge/skills.

At least one scholarship will be awarded for $1,000 each year. Applicants must be women who:

  • At the time of application, have received a high school diploma, completed at least 30 college credit hours, and have a cumulative college grade point average of at least 3.0;
  • currently working towards an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or certificate at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States (full-time or part-time);
  • Are pursuing a career that promotes equity for women and girls, education, health, and/or in fields in which women are currently underrepresented;
  • Are able to apply the funds awarded to their education within 12 months of the award date;
  • Match at least one of the following:

– Graduated from a St. Vrain Valley School District High School – Currently reside within the St. Vrain Valley School District

Other information:

Prior recipients of the AAUW Longmont Scholarship are eligible to re-apply. The program does not provide funding for CEUs, CLUs, or other similar courses required for state licensing renewal or salary advancement. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees only. Award amounts may be used toward one semester/term or split between semesters/terms.
