Overview

The South Island Agricultural Field Days (also known as the Lincoln field days) are a biennial event held at the Lincoln University Farm. The Field Days began in 1951 and have grown to become the South Islands’ largest agricultural fields days. Traditionally the field days have been organised and run by the Christchurch District Young Farmers Clubs, however since 2003 the field days are now organised and run by the South Island Agricultural Field Days Society Inc. (SIAFD). The field days are held in conjunction with Lincoln University who provide event management support. One of the primary objectives of the field days has been to provide members of the Young Farmers Club with an opportunity to develop their leadership and management skills. The SIAFD continues to aim to achieve this objective and seeks to provide opportunities for members of the Young Farmers Club to further their education and improve their skills and knowledge in relation to farming.
