Nikolas Dow Memorial Scholarship

The Nikolas Dow Memorial Scholarship was established to honour the memory of Niki Dow who was tragically killed in a car accident in Portugal in 2013. Niki attended St Kentigern’s College before undertaking his degree at Lincoln University. Niki was an active member of his community and was involved in a number of sports. He was a vital member of the LURFC while attending Lincoln. This scholarship is supported by funds donated to the ‘War Donkey’ Trust by Niki’s friends, family and colleagues. Niki graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology in 2013.
Purpose
The Niki Dow Memorial Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students who wish to undertake studies in the Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology at Lincoln University.
Eligibility
(a) Applicants must be full time students entering their first year of study towards the Bachelor of Viticulture andOenology. (b) Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents.
Selection Criteria
The criteria for selection will be:
(a) Academic merit. (b) Leadership in academic, community, sport, or other arenas. (c) Financial hardship.
Tenure
(a) The scholarship is tenable for one year. (b) The scholarship is tenable with any other scholarship, award or bursary provided prior approval from the selection committee has been granted
