John Reeves Memorial Scholarship
Lincoln University
This scholarship has been presented by the Reeves family who manage a leading Romney stud. A number of family members have attended Lincoln University over the years.
Purpose
The John Reeves Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 to support a student who is entering their final year of study towards a Bachelor Agricultural Science with Honours degree at Lincoln University. The successful applicant must be undertaking an honours dissertation project in sheep, such as sheep breeding, genetics, methane output by sheep or internal parasite work.
Number/Value
One scholarship will be offered annually to a full time student studying at Lincoln University. The annual value of the scholarship shall be $ 2,000 towards tuition fees or living expenses. The scholarship will be paid in two equal instalments, May and August, after confirmation of satisfactory progress from the Lincoln University dissertation supervisor.
Eligibility
a. Applicants must be full time students registered in their Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree with Honours. b. Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents.
Selection Criteria
The criteria for selection will be: a. Undertaking an honours dissertation project either in sheep breeding/genetics or sheep parasitology b. Evidence of and/or planned activity to support the New Zealand sheep industry
Tenure
a. The scholarship is tenable for one year. b. The scholarship is tenable with any other scholarship, award or bursary.
