Overview

Purpose

The Hogan Hurst Horticulture Scholarship has been provided by Joyce Hogan in memory of her father Sidney Murray Hurst. ‘Sid’ Hurst was a member of the Lincoln College Council from 1962-1985 and served for six years as Chair. Sid was among those who advocated for Lincoln College to become an autonomous university.

Eligibility

1 Applicants must be full time students undertaking a degree or diploma with a

horticultural or viticultural focus.

2 Applicants must have successfully passed at least one year of full time study at Lincoln University.

3 Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents.

4 Preference may be given to applicants from the South Island.

The criteria for selection shall be 1 Academic merit. 2 Financial Hardsh

Tenure

1 The scholarship is tenable for one year. Previous applicants may reapply in subsequent years.

2 The scholarship is tenable with any other scholarship, award or bursary with permission from the selection committee
