Lancaster Opportunity Scholarship

As part of our commitment to improving social mobility and widening access to higher education for all, we are delighted to offer The Lancaster Opportunity Scholarship of £1,000 per year of study to eligible Home fee paying applicants who are part of our Contextual Offer Scheme.

Eligibility criteria

The Lancaster Opportunity Scholarship will be available to UK (Home fee-paying) applicants who are part of our Contextual Offer Scheme, Medicine Contextual Offer Scheme, or who successfully complete the Lancaster Access Programme or Realising Opportunities programme.

Application process

There is no separate application process for the Lancaster Opportunity Scholarship. Eligible students will be identified automatically through their University application.

Combining scholarship awards

The Lancaster Opportunity Scholarship can be combined with the Lancaster Scholarship, if an applicant meets the academic criteria.

Payment of the scholarship

Before the end of October, eligible students will receive an email to confirm the details of the award, including the payment dates and how the award will be paid.

Further information

Lancaster University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship if award holders are subsequently found to be ineligible or if the terms and conditions of the scholarship are not adhered to.
