Overview
The JCU Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship is part of JCU’s commitment to rewarding and supporting high-achieving school leavers. $40,000 will be awarded for up to four (4) years of study ($10,000 per year).
The Scholarship provides financial support to high-achieving undergraduate students commencing full-time study at JCU in Study Period One, 2023. The JCU Vice Chancellor's Scholarship is assessed automatically for Year 12 applicants. There is no separate application required for these scholarships.
This Scholarship is subject to the provisions of James Cook University’s Coursework Scholarships, Bursaries and Grants Policy.
Eligibility
The JCU Vice Chancellor's Scholarship will be open to students who meet all the following criteria:
- Complete Year 12 in 2022 and are enrolling at JCU in 2023 (the year immediately following the completion of Year 12).
- Are a new student to JCU.
- Are enrolling as a domestic student, full-time for Study Period One, 2023 in an eligible undergraduate full degree (Bachelor) program (Study areas Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry are excluded).
- Are not enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery; Bachelor of Veterinary Science or the Bachelor of Dental Surgery – which are excluded.
- Achieve an Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) of 97.00 or above or equivalent International Baccalaureate (IB) score. Please note adjusted ATARs and bonus rank points do not apply.
- Are an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder, or Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen.
- Are not a recipient of any other JCU-funded scholarship.
