Overview

The Deaf Student Bursary is a Heriot-Watt bursary programme aimed at supporting deaf or hard of hearing students who wish to study any programme at any level at Heriot-Watt University as a sign language and deaf friendly university, illustrated through its BSL Plan.

You could be eligible to receive a £2,000 bursary for up to five years of study. Awardees will also be supported by the Heriot-Watt BSL academic team and in-house interpreting and translation service, and interact with BSL interpreting students and local deaf community members. Recipients of the bursary will also benefit from collaboration and social opportunities with local deaf community organisation partners.

SignLive will also donate a package of video interpreted calls worth £5,000 per year to each student.
