Moffat Scholarship

The Moffat Charitable Trust has been supporting the Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism for over 20 years, providing over £1m of Scholarships for GCU students. Outstanding applicants wishing to attend GCU to study Travel, Tourism or Events programmes can apply for a scholarship to support them in their studies.

The scholarships are awarded according to academic ability; motivation to undertake a career in the tourism industry, and economic need. The number of scholarships awarded will depend on the quality of applicants.

Undergraduate and postgraduate studying one of the following courses commencing September 2023

BA (Hons) International Tourism and Events Management MSc International Tourism and Events Management The scholarship is also open to PhD students .

• Awards of up to £3,600 which will be paid over two instalments over the academic year for Undergraduate students
• Awards of up to £2,500 which will be paid over three instalments over the academic year for Postgraduate students

The award is non-transferable to any other programme if you change your course to the one specified at time of application.

• A thank you letter is submitted, to be given to the donor Moffat Charitable Trust.
• A report, based on your experience as a scholarship recipient and how this award has made a difference to you (this will be required nearing the end of every year of study).
• Approval for any use of photographs and quotes to be used in printed media and on University websites
• Attendance at any scholarship related events, hosted by GCU or Moffat Centre
